Tactical, challenging and outrageously funny, Blood Bowl is a fantasy football game like no other, that will keep coaches coming back for more.

To play a game of Blood Bowl there are a few key items you will need. Before diving into the world of Blood Bowl and exploring the rules of the game further, let's take a look at a game in action and list the vital components that are required:

  1. BLOOD BOWL PITCH: This is a foldout cardboard playing surface, marked out to emulate a pitch that might be found in the Blood Bowl world.
  2. TWO DUGOUTS: These are used to keep track of game information, as well as providing somewhere to place reserves and injured players.
  3. TWO TEAMS OF PLAYERS: There are many different teams available from Games Workshop, representing the many different races that play this great game.
  4. TEAM MARKERS: These are used to keep track of game information on your team dugout.
  5. DICE: Blood Bowl uses multiple different types of dice - two regular six-sided dice, three block dice, an eight-sided dice and a 16-sided dice are all used to bring the action to life.
  6. RULERS AND TEMPLATES: These are used for passing the ball, determining where the ball lands or bounces to, and so on.
  7. TOKENS: These are used to denote various in-game effects, such as whether a player is prone, distracted by another effect, and so on.
  8. THE RULEBOOK: The one you are holding, to be precise! In this book you will find all the rules for the game of Blood Bowl.
  9. QUICK REFERENCE CARDS: The Blood Bowl starter set contains two Quick Reference Cards; a useful tool to remind you of the game sequence and enable you to quickly access frequently used tables.
